The Eagles of Boston College hosted the Black Bears of Maine and the bears stole a win by one point in Conte Forum in front of 4,116 fans. the game started off slow because the Eagles had the lead most of the game, then the Black Bears started getting confidence and motivation to win and they took the lead and never gave it up. The Eagles are in the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference), which has teams such as Duke, Wake Forest, Clemson, and Maryland so the win for the Black Bears from the America East was a huge win. The Bears were led by junior Sean Mcnally who had 15 points in 34 minutes of play, and Junior Malachi Peay came off the bench and gave them a big boost of energy by putting up 6 points, 4 steals, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds in 20 minutes of play. The game got very intense when there was 3 minutes left in the game because there were so many lead changes. The crowd made the game even more interesting when they started to get into the game and cheer on the home team and boo for the away team, but the underdogs which were the Black Bears stayed together and came up with the win. This win was the biggest win of the season for the Bears and they felt proud but they didn’t get cocky just had more confidence in themselves. The Black Bears finished the season with a record of 19-11 and the Eagles finished the season with a record of 15-16. The Bears went back to Orono, ME feeling great about the win and the Eagles were left back in Boston with anger and guilt by losing. People saw the results of the game on ESPN the day after the game and knew not to doubt the Black Bears anymore, they proved themselves the rest of the season until their conference tournament losing to the 6th seed New Hampshire which they beat 2 times already during the season. The Bears are more motivated and ready for next season to start with the America East Championship in mind and in reach.
